Praying Through: Psalm 119:89-96

The Psalm

Psalm 119:89–96 (CSB)
89 LORD, your word is forever; it is firmly fixed in heaven.

90 Your faithfulness is for all generations; you established the earth, and it stands firm.

91 Your judgments stand firm today, for all things are your servants.

92 If your instruction had not been my delight, I would have died in my affliction.

93 I will never forget your precepts, for you have given me life through them.

94 I am yours; save me, for I have studied your precepts.

95 The wicked hope to destroy me, but I contemplate your decrees.

96 I have seen a limit to all perfection, but your command is without limit.

The Prayer

My Living Word

What you say

  • I can take you at your word
  • because you alone never lie
  • and cannot lie
  • and only speak truth
  • and never in riddles
  • and you are not waiting for me to figure it out
  • you give me your law
  • your word
  • your gospel
  • your prophecies
  • and you did not leave me to my stupidity
  • to my ignorance
  • to figure on my own.

For you alone

  • gave me your Son
  • so that I would be born again
  • gave your Spirit
  • so my eyes would be opened
  • so my ears would hear
  • so my heart would understand
  • so my mind could comprehend
  • and you, my Father
  • grant me maturity
  • in your time
  • for your glory
  • and my good.

I love you so much.

Be glorified in me

  • today.

Amen.
