The Introduction Paul has written many epistles–which is another fancy word for “letter”. No doubt he was a prolific epistle writer. He has written many letters but only a handful of them have made their way into our Biblical canon as Scripture. In all of his church letters to the church in Rome, Corinth, Galatia, and Ephesus, among others, we call these particular letters to the pastors Timothy and Titus, “The Pastoral Letters”....

The Introduction We are focusing on the gospel implications of Paul’s letters to Pastor Timothy of the Church in Ephesus. What is the good news that we can draw out of these letters. Paul is writing to Timothy to encourage him, urge him on, stand his ground, flee from sin, and shepherd his people–which includes pastoring and preaching and teaching to his congregation. Last week, we see Paul to admonish both to young Timothy and his church to be content in everything–especially with money and provisions....

The Introduction Just in previous chapter, Paul exhorts Timothy to remember the prophecies made about Timothy in order to keep the good fight–because apart from the grace of God, we are a plethora of tiny, micro decisions from shipwrecking our faith. Paul encourages us to fight the good fight of faith. How do we do that?
