O Lord, I would say to you, “I have not forgotten you.” But what about those times I succumb to the wickedness of my heart, to the depravity of the world, or to the lies of Satan? What about those times? What about those times when I am devoid of strength and I do not turn to the one who has my infinite strength? What about those times when I rely on my rational thought process, the very good gift that you have given me, instead being depended and led by that very Giver, the Spirit of God, by which I am declared to be your beloved son?...
O Lord, How could I possibly worship you? I am not worthy to commune with you and be with you. I sin even now. My heart strays. My soul wanders. Yet, you, O God, are not far from me. While I might feel desperate or despair sadness or anger or happiness, you are with me and within me....
My God in Heaven, There is none like you! You are God who sits high above all of my sins, my hardness, my wickedness, my trespasses and my calamity. You are exalted far above all of my gods. But in your steadfast love, abounding grace, and tender mercies, you saved me! You sent your son, Jesus Christ, to come live and die for me. I have no wisdom, strength, or spirit to find you. But you, O Lord, rescued me. You have brought me into your life and in your life alone, I am <em>fully</em> alive. My Precious God, I am often reminded of my sinful ways of the past. As the vines grew up from my heart and slowly and surely tightened around my neck as I continuously die without thought But you, my God, broke the spell of the sin over my life. But time after time, I see those weeds grow. I feel the cancer thriving in my heart. I sense the sin that crouches for me and waits to pierce my soul with his poison....
My Great God, How many times have you rescued me from not only eternal death but certain death and doom? How many times have I sinned that did and did not lead to my death? The answer is countless. The truth is infinite. But yet, you are my great God and Savior! I have fallen into the abyssmal pit too many times to count. But because of your grace upon grace, you were deeper still!...
My Lord and my God, Even when I was dead, you called my name. Even when I was lost, you found me. Even when I was blind, you touched my eyes and opened them to see. Even when I was deaf, you opened them to hear. Even when I was hard-hearted, you took my heart of stone and gave me your tender heart. Even when I couldn’t know you, you gave me Your Spirit....
My God, It is the might and strength of your protection on my life and heart that gives me peace. That no other thing in all of creation can ever separate me from you in the name of your Son, Christ Jesus my Lord. Nothing ever compares to you. You alone are powerful and worthy. Great God, I am reminded what Christ declared: You alone are good. You are the source of all good but my heart flees and wanders from you But in your Word, you declared me holy because you are holy. you declared me righteous because Christ is righteous you declared me justified because you alone justified. Then because of who You are, I am awashed in your grace upon grace wake up to new mercies every morning abounded in your steadfast love....
O Lord, Tender mercies, you have given me every single day that I life. I was so far from you from your will and your flock and your heart. But I was never more than a mere breath away from your mercies for me. Even in my wickedness, your kindness towards me was your continuous call for me to come home to you. My God, Keep me close to your heart and do not let me stray....
My Blessed Redeemer, Your Word stands true. For you have declared that, your law is perfect and it revives my soul. Your testimony is *sure*, turning my foolishness into wisdom. But you, O Lord, are my healer and my restorer. You sent your Son to care for the sick and wounded. Be attentive to my pain and I will rejoice before you. My Only Good How many times have I have sin against you done wickedness in your sight submitted myself to perversion blasphemed your holy name persecuted those who love you and violently opposed your righteousness? All of my sins, I cannot count that high. They would outnumber the stars in the sky, and the sands upon the shore. For my heart does evil continually, it is desperately sick at it's core....
My Only Redeemer I am filled with iniquity, Lord, look at my sins? How can you not count my wickedness against me? Are you a god that turns his head and ignores evil? The Cover of my Iniquity How long, O Lord, when I have not confess to you when I have spoken of my evil when I thought, "The Lord forgives" and I no longer will be burdened with you. But burden with my wickedness, I was. My pretend ignorance failed me My own heart betrays me. and I was crushed under my iniquity and I was suppressed by my unrighteousness. But you have sent your Son to change my mind to speak life into my dead flesh to exchange my rock heart for your soft heart to borne my grief to carry my sorrow to be stricken for me to be smitten for me to be afflicted for me and pierced for my transgression and crushed for my iniquity....
God of my little belief Oh how many times, O Lord, have I whispered nothings gave half-hearted thanks prayed and did not believe spoke and did not think it was real. When I was an ungodly husband and my weak non-prayers were unanswered When I was a sinful subject and any other king would ignore me or worse yet have me executed for high treason? But that is not you....
To the Rock of Ages The world and the Prince of the Air and his demons have left me to rot to die to drown in the middle of the ocean to be consumed by the waves to let my soul fall into hell. They care not for my soul, it does not bother them if I live or if I die It is better for them if I was to be destroyed....
Spirit of Christ Without you, I am completely ignorant of you. There are not enough classes in the world to sit and learn about you. There are not enough books to sit and read to know you.
